about
Born in the field.
Built for the future.
Built for the future.

Condoit started with a simple but frustrating reality: electrical infrastructure is too important to be managed with paper drawings under Bob's desk.
Our founder, Ian Hoppe, comes from a family of electricians and electrical engineers going back generations. His grandfather wired AT&T's main and toll lines in New Orleans for his whole career. His dad put him in the field at 14, where he worked summers as an apprentice for commercial and industrial electrical contractors in Birmingham. After getting his electrical engineering degree, Ian spent years walking high-stakes facilities by hand, capturing the electrical infrastructure asset by asset.
At St. Vincent's Hospital on the south side of Birmingham, he personally opened all 835 pieces of equipment in the building. Photos went on his phone. Notes went in a notebook. Diagrams got redrawn in AutoCAD, crunched in SKM Power Tools, printed, and bound. Then the binder went under the maintenance director's desk, where it sat until Ian came back five years later to redo the whole thing.
The data was real. The work was real. None of it grew the contractor's business or made the next visit easier. There was no system.
In 2019, Ian started building one. He digitized the workflow he'd done by hand for years: an iPad-first app that guided a tech through capturing electrical data and saving it to the cloud, where it could be updated as the building changed. With co-founder Peyton Sherwood, a Venmo founding team member, the early Condoit became a platform. Condoit Asset Tags™ were added to the equipment. AI agents started surfacing service revenue from the data. The platform became the system of record for the electrical industry.
Today, Condoit manages 4.5 million electrical assets across 2,500+ facilities, used by some of the largest electrical contractors in the country. Our purpose hasn't changed. We still help service-savvy contractors turn the data they generate every day into recurring service revenue.
